The Power of Color - Who is Your Yellow, Your Blue, Your Red

Color is All Around Us - You Just Have to Look Deeper

Colors aren’t just something we see — they’re something we feel. They sneak into our moods, our memories, and even the way we move through the world. But beyond paint swatches and sunsets, colors can be people, too. The ones who color your life in ways you can’t forget.

So let’s ask: who are your colors?

Your Yellow
Yellow is joy, warmth, and light. It’s the friend who laughs too loud, the person who makes a dull Tuesday sparkle, the one who reminds you that the sun always rises. Your yellow doesn’t let the heaviness of the world dim their brightness — and when you’re around them, you can’t help but shine a little too.

Your Blue
Blue is calm, steady, and grounding. It’s the person who doesn’t flinch when life storms around you. The one who listens without judgment and says, “You’re safe here.” Your blue isn’t about excitement — they’re about peace. The kind of peace that steadies your breath and slows the chaos in your head.

Your Green
Green is growth. Balance. Renewal. This is the person who challenges you to stretch, to grow into who you’re supposed to be. Your green believes in second chances, in healing, in moving forward. They’ll hand you water when you’re wilting and remind you that you are still capable of blooming.

Your Red
Red is passion, courage, and fire. They don’t let you play small. Your red is the one who pushes you out of your comfort zone, cheers the loudest for your wins, and tells you when you’re selling yourself short. They remind you of your own fire when you forget.

Your Purple
Purple is mystery, creativity, and wisdom. They see the world in ways others don’t — and being around them feels like opening doors to new dimensions. Your purple inspires you to dream bigger, think deeper, and embrace your unique magic.

Your Black & White
Even the neutrals matter. Your black is the strong, grounding force — the one who protects and defends. Your white is the soft reset, the quiet peace, the clean slate that keeps you from being swallowed by noise.

At the end of the day, life is just a canvas. The people you love? They’re the brushstrokes. Life feels a little less complicated when you think of it in color. Some folks walk into your world like a splash of sunshine, while others steady you like a calm sea. And each one leaves their hue on your heart.

And, when you explore those colors, you might see someone in a very different shade, or worse, someone with no color at all.

But as always, do it anyway.

Now, onto cupcakes.

Cupcakes

Cupcakes with Coffee Style:

Cupcakes are tiny acts of joy—soft, sweet reminders that life doesn’t have to be big or perfect to be worth celebrating. They’re the reward after a hard day (mid-day, if necessary), the comfort during a messy one, and pure bliss in edible form. Paired with a good cup of coffee, they’re not just dessert—they’re a moment of pause, a little cheer, and sometimes, the reason you keep going.

"There is nothing a strong cup of coffee and a cupcake can't fix."

My Takeaways

Coffee

Latte Art

For this coffee, try your best (laughing). No, seriously just pour yourself a regular ol' cup of joe as you watch these insane videos here & here of this barista's beautiful colorful foam techniques.

This barista, Mason Salisbury, has been surprising some of his customers by pouring a regular looking latte or cappuccino that suddenly ends with a flourish of foamy color. The technicolor beverages resemble the patterns from tie dye t-shirts and are fully edible, though exactly what happens to your insides afterward is still to be determined... A little tidbit:

You can purchase these cappuccino coloring kits from many sites found online but make sure to confirm they are food grade!

ENJOY!

Conclusion

Remember, your YELLOW is warmth, your BLUE is calm, your GREEN is growth, your RED is fire, your PURPLE is magic, your BLACK is strength and your WHITE is peace. Embrace them ALL because we sure as hell know - life is NEVER gray.

A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Kate—writer, encourager, coffee sipper, and cupcake enthusiast. I started Cupcakes with Coffee as a form of therapy. For a long time, I lived in survival mode—pushing through, people-pleasing, and carrying weight that wasn’t mine to carry. Writing became the place where I could finally set it all down. And focus on my two favorite passions—coffee and cupcakes.

My blog is my way of turning pain into purpose. It’s my apology to myself for settling for less than I deserved, and my reminder to anyone reading that you don’t have to have it all together to move forward—you just have to do it anyway.

I wanted to create a space that felt real. A place where the messy parts of life could sit right alongside the cozy, the funny, and the motivating. Because that’s how life actually is—a mix of hard truths and small joys. That’s why I started this website and more importantly this blog: to write through it, to share it, and maybe, to help someone else feel a little less alone while they figure it out too.

So pull up a chair, grab some coffee and a cupcake, and stay awhile.
